For the Professional

What NA is and How to Access Us

NA is a non-profit, non-professional twelve-step fellowship of addicts helping addicts founded in the Los Angeles area in 1953.  We have since spread internationally, with meetings in over 140 countries, literature translated into some 70 languages and over 70,000 meetings held weekly worldwide.  Information about us can be found on the NA World Services website shown below.  There you will find survey data, a quad-fold pamphlet entitled “Facts about NA,” resources for NA members regarding medication use, and much more.

Contacting Us Locally

For relationships with others whose mission includes helping addicts, NA locally has a Public Relations Subcommittee, reachable via email at: naprabq@gmail.com. If you wish to build a relationship of mutual cooperation with NA in the Greater Albuquerque Area, please email us.  All local efforts are carried out by volunteers through an Area Service Committee with a series of subcommittees that serve specialized purposes.

Our Hospitals and Institutions Subcommittee (H&I), for example, brings meetings into places where addicts are receiving professional help or are incarcerated, giving special priority to facilities where addicts have limited or no access to outside meetings.

The Public Relations Subcommittee (PR) is our public-facing communications group responsible for building relationships of mutual cooperation.   We offer services such as presentations that describe our fellowship, including Q&A sessions, literature racks placed in facilities that we will regularly replenish, and display booths at events.  The helpline listed at the bottom of this page is offered for those seeking help with addiction to any drug or combination of drugs.
